The Walk to Emmaus offers today’s disciples a parallel opportunity to rediscover Christ’s presence in their lives, to gain fresh understanding of God’s transforming grace, and to form friendships that foster faith and support spiritual maturity. While Emmaus provides a pathway to the mountaintop of God’s love, it also supports pilgrims’ return to the world in the power of the Spirit to share the love they have received with a hurtful and hurting world.

News and Information
Brothers and Sisters of Loudoun Valley Emmaus,

As a Christian Community we celebrated Easter on April 8, then 21 men followed by 26 women on LV 73 and LV 74 will Walk to Emmaus. How wonderful for the pilgrims to be able to reflect on their personal walk with a risen Lord so soon after Easter! I know that you will join with me in prayer for the members of LV 73 and 74 as they spend 72 hours focused on the role of our Lord in their lives.

As brothers and sisters in Christ, please attend as many of the events of the weekends to show our newest brothers and sisters in Christ some of the ways others showed Christ’s love to us.

PLEASE NOTE: We will not be meeting as a Community on the third Saturday this month as that weekend coincides with LV 73 being on the Mountain. We will be meeting at the 4H Center instead.

The May Gathering will be held at Manassas St Thomas UMC in Manassas. After the weekends we will be able to warmly welcome into our Community 47 new Brothers and Sisters in Christ. I know our community will embrace them and integrate them into the life of our Community.

Faithfully Yours,

Bob McCurry

Loudoun Valley Emmaus held its first walk on Memorial Day Weekend in 1993. It has held four walks per year, two in late spring, and two in early November.

The area covered by the LoVE Community is primarily Loudoun County in Virginia, which is the top of the state from Dulles International Airport to West Virginia, and also Chantilly, Centreville, Manassas, Warrenton, and Winchester. Many of the Sand Hills Community, North Carolina, founding members walked with LoVE. We also have 3 citizens of the Slovak Republic in Europe who walked with us in Virginia.
